Ogden Parks & Gardens
The Eccles Dinosaur Park encompasses six acres and allows visitors to experience the former terrain of these prehistoric creatures. Dinosaur sounds are heard throughout the park by a high-quality sound system and visitors enjoy watching technicians prepare fossils in the dinosaur laboratory and touching real dinosaur eggs.
Built in 1846 by famed pioneer Miles Goodyear, Fort Buenaventura has been reconstructed on its original site. Livestock, cabins and heirloom gardens demonstrate what the fort looked like in the 1800s. Today the park offers facilities for camping, picnics, hiking, fishing, wildlife viewing, canoeing and more.
The Ogden Nature Center is a 127-acre wildlife sanctuary and education center that is open year-round. Featuring a number of trails that are ideal for hiking, birdwatching and picnics, the center aims to unite people with nature.
Antelope Island State Park is the biggest island in Great Salt Lake. Visitors can access the island by causeway or by boat. There is an admission fee and visitors to the island can enjoy its beaches, hike, explore, kayak, bike, and more. The island contains wildlife, including the herd of roaming bison that were introduced to the island in the late 1800s.
